Night Receptionist - Utrecht

We’re hiring for our brand-new Conscious Hotel in Utrecht!

This summer, we’re opening the doors to our very first hotel outside of Amsterdam – and it’s going to be something special. Right in the heart of Utrecht, in a monumental former music venue on the Oudegracht, we’re launching an eco-sexy boutique hotel with 46 beautiful rooms and our signature café concept, Sticky Fingers. And for this exciting new chapter, we’re looking for enthusiastic, warm, and energetic Night Receptionists to join our opening team from the end of July/beginning of August on!

What will you do

Night animal, evening person, call it what you will. As a Night Receptionist, you are responsible for the night. You are the superhero who helps our guests in the evening with checking in, checking out, and maybe makes a nice cup of coffee or tea for them (for those who can't sleep ;)). You clearly have an affinity for hospitality, so you can help guests with whatever they need, for example, a wake-up call at 5:00 in the morning, or help with their bags. Of course, you answer the phone with a smile and a "Good morning". You can work well independently, and that's okay, because you are the contact person in the evening for our guests. You don't mind that this entails a lot of responsibility: a troubleshooter, that's what you are!

For the night shifts, Night Audits are also part of your tasks, just like checking and reporting deviations. You know your way around the fire alarm system and always have the safety of our guests (and yourself) as your highest priority.

There are also many other things you will be doing during the night: you are our host, bar(wo)man, cook(in) and handyman in one! At night, you'll be checking out our in-house bike rental, helping to prepare breakfast, and restocking our grab & go shop at Conscious Café at our Vondelpark location. You can do anything and have energy for ten! Still, it's the unpredictable night hours, so you're zen enough for the quiet moments.

Job Requirements and Personal Qualities

• Hospitality is in your DNA; you know what the guest needs

• Preferably, you have experience in (international) hotels or in the hospitality industry

• Flexible (not necessarily in an acrobatic way). This means you’re willing to work flexible shifts at our different locations, including weekends and public holidays. The shifts are always from 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM, for 3 days a week (24-hour contract) — so you’ll know exactly what to expect!

• You speak English fluently

• Preferably, you live in or near Utrecht

• You have a proactive attitude, can switch quickly and pick up working with different systems

• You are a team player, but can also work independently

• Affinity with sustainable trends and organic products is a big plus

• It is useful if you already have experience with complaint handling and knowledge of HACCP
