A great dinner doesn’t start in the kitchen alone — it starts in the glass. And that’s exactly where you come in. In the heart of Amsterdam East, you’ll find The Lobby Fizeaustraat: a vibrant meeting place where gastronomy, wine, and hospitality come together. From relaxed lunches to refined dinners and long evenings at the table — everything here revolves around experience. With an open kitchen, a warm atmosphere, and a wine list that continues to surprise, The Lobby is a place where guests love to take their time. A restaurant where attention to detail, flavour, and service is at the core, and where every service is as dynamic as the city itself.
As a sommelier intern, you step into a world full of aromas, stories, and surprising combinations. You’ll learn how a wine can make a dish sing, how to surprise guests with something new, and how to confidently recommend choices that elevate the entire evening.
During the day, you help prepare for service, taste wines, learn about different styles and regions, and support the team in advising guests. In the evening, everything comes together: the restaurant comes alive, dishes are served, and you make sure every glass is just right — from an easy favourite to a special discovery from the cellar.
You’ll be given the space to learn, taste, and explore. No dry theory, but hands-on experience where you steadily build your wine knowledge and learn how to genuinely share your enthusiasm with guests. An internship where curiosity is rewarded, flavour takes centre stage, and no two evenings are ever the same.
