Bartender Intern

Located in Amsterdam East, The Lobby Fizeaustraat is a vibrant hotspot where hotel and restaurant come together, and where the atmosphere shifts throughout the day. From early birds easing into the morning with coffee and breakfast to guests lingering over a good glass of wine, dinner, or a relaxed drink — it all happens here. The combination of a stylish interior, open kitchen, and an easy-going, welcoming vibe makes it a place where you instantly feel at home, yet where there’s always something going on.

As a bartender intern, you’ll step into a dynamic environment where no moment is the same. During the day, you’ll help guests start their morning right with great coffee or tea, serve fresh juices, and contribute to a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere in the restaurant. As the day progresses, the energy shifts: the bar comes alive, glasses start clinking, and you’ll be ready to serve drinks and shake cocktails.

You’ll learn how to effortlessly switch between different moments of the day and styles of service. From breakfast to drinks and dinner — you play an important role in the overall guest experience. With an eye for detail, a friendly attitude, and a genuine smile, you make sure everyone feels welcome.

What you will do:

• Welcome guests and create a warm, hospitable atmosphere behind the bar and in the restaurant;

• Prepare and serve coffee, tea, and fresh juices during breakfast and lunch service;

• Assist in setting up and serving beverages throughout the day;

• Prepare cocktails and other drinks during aperitif and evening service;

• Work across an all-day service (breakfast, lunch, dinner, and drinks);

• Maintain a clean, organised, and well-stocked bar;

• Collaborate with the bar and service team to ensure a smooth guest experience;

• Learn from experienced colleagues and develop your skills in bartending and hospitality.

About you:

• You are looking for an internship of at least 5 months;

• Energetic, enthusiastic, and eager to learn;

• A genuine interest for hospitality and creating great guest experiences;

• Comfortable in a dynamic environment where no two days are the same;

• A strong team player, while also able to take responsibility for individual tasks;

• A positive mindset with a natural sense for service and attention to detail;

• Living in or around Amsterdam;

• Experience in hospitality is a plus, but not required — motivation and attitude matter most!

• Generous internship allowance: €600 per month (based on full-time) or a market-based BBL salary;
