Operational Events Intern

Located in The Lobby Fizeaustraat, our venue is a vibrant hotspot where hotel, restaurant, and events come together. Throughout the day, the atmosphere continuously evolves — from business meetings and casual gatherings to dinners, celebrations, and evening drinks. The stylish interior, open spaces, and welcoming vibe create the perfect setting for a wide range of events.

As an Operational Events Intern, you’ll step into a dynamic environment where no day is the same. You’ll be involved in the full flow of events — from preparation and setup to execution and breakdown. During the day, you may assist with setting up meeting rooms or hosting corporate guests. As the day progresses, the energy shifts towards social events, private dinners, or lively evening functions.

You’ll learn how to anticipate guest needs, adapt quickly, and support different types of events with confidence and professionalism. With an eye for detail, a hands-on mentality, and a friendly attitude, you help create memorable experiences for every guest. In addition, you will gain insight into the commercial side of events by spending time with our Meetings & Events (M&E) Sales team, learning how events are planned, sold, and coordinated from the initial enquiry to execution.

What you will do:

• Assist in the preparation, setup, and breakdown of events and functions;

• Welcome guests and ensure a smooth and hospitable event experience;

• Support operational flow during meetings, private dinners, and events;

• Coordinate with kitchen, bar, and service teams during events;

• Help manage event spaces, ensuring they are clean, organised, and ready;

• Assist with serving food and beverages during events when needed;

• Anticipate guest needs and respond proactively;

• Learn about event planning, logistics, and on-the-day coordination;

• Gain exposure to the M&E Sales team and support where possible.

About you:

• You are looking for an internship of at least 5 months;

• Energetic, proactive, and eager to learn;

• A strong interest in events, hospitality, and guest experience;

• Comfortable in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment;

• A hands-on team player with a sense of responsibility;

• Organised, detail-oriented, and solution-focused;

• Living in or around Amsterdam;

• Experience in hospitality or events is a plus, but motivation and attitude matter most.

• Generous internship allowance: €600 per month (based on full-time) or a market-based BBL salary;
