We are Conscious Hotels, four stylish eco-hotels and two organic restaurants and two coffee bars in Amsterdam. We want our guests to have a great time, so we always come up with fresh, creative ways to connect with our guests. We call that “Eco-Sexy. Big Smiles".

To make this happen, the Project Department of Conscious Hotels is looking for maternity coverage for our Project Coordinator from December until May. Conscious' project department is responsible for development of new hotels, our strategic planning cycle and managing quality while improving our efficiency and our sustainability levels. We’re looking for a talented and hands-on Project Coordinator to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for our development projects as well as and quality management and efficiency. You will work on these projects together with the project team that consists of a department manager, a fellow project coordinator, two junior project coordinators and three project interns.


A day in the life of...

As our Project Coordinator you are – surprise – responsible for the coordination of several projects. There’s two areas which will be your responsibility. The goals and your main duties and responsibilities in achieving these goals are:

Development: Expand (from 506) to 2500 rooms by 2030.

  • Manage multiple new hotel development projects

  • Create a standard development blueprint

  • Improve on development tooling

  • Develop and maintain relationships with partners and suppliers


Quality and Efficiency: Increase Increase GRI + Review scores in line with goals BP

  • Monthly reporting on quality of our hotels incl. plans of improvement

  • Initiate and manage projects that keep our hotels up to par

  • Manage renovation projects for current hotels

  • Perform audits that improve quality and or efficiency in current outlets

  • Ensure follow up and securing of changes based on audits and projects


When coordinating any project, these are your main responsibilities:

  • Develop project plans, schedules, budgets and risk management plans

  • Coordinate and manage project activities to ensure successful delivery

  • Communicate project status, issues, and risks to stakeholders

  • Hands-on involvement in all aspects of project delivery, including tasks such as data collection, research and analysis

  • Ensure that the project stays on track and be able to adapt when the planning changes.

  • Keep track of expenses and guard our budget.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive projects forward and resolve any obstacles

  • Facilitate meetings, workshops, and presentations as necessary

  • Keep project documentation up-to-date and easily accessible to all stakeholders

  • Coordinate the workload of other junior team members and interns

Job requirements

Job Requirements and Personal Qualities

In order to qualify for the job you must have:

  • proven experience in coordinating projects with tight deadlines

  • excellent organizational and time management skills

  • the ability to keep a good overview of multiple projects at once

  • strong analytical and problem-solving skills, you think in solutions!

  • the ability to communicate clearly with different stakeholders

  • the ability to identify and proactively tackle risks

  • the ability to work independently, prioritize tasks and meet deadlines

  • a dose of dark humor to make everyone laugh when things don’t go as planned


You are:

  • well organized and have an eye for detail.

  • immaculate in documenting and reporting

  • comfortable in taking the lead in a group of professionals and not afraid to challenge their viewpoints

  • ambitious, enthusiastic and up for a challenge!


we don’t want to overask, but these would be nice to have:

  • experience with development projects

  • experience in a sustainable company

  • experience with guiding juniors/interns

  • experience with quality management

  • a love for salmari shots (honestly, we don’t like them either, but somehow we end up having them from time to time)
